What do a CD player, a remote-controlled car,
and a microwave all have in common? They run on electricity! You have probably
seen lightning light up the sky during a thunderstorm. Lightning is electricity
too.
In order for electricity to be used to make things work, it must be controlled.
Electricity must run through a circuit. Think of a circuit as a pathway through
which electricity can travel.
In this lesson, you will learn about electricity. You will learn how to build
your own electric circuit.
When you have completed this lesson, you will be able to
design and build circuits,
describe how electrical energy can be converted to heat, light, and motion.
know that electric charge can gather on objects and when this happens, the behavior of the object changes.
know that objects that have the same
charge repel each other and objects that have opposite charges attract each
other).
