Most of what we know about man comes from
written history. But what about people that lived before any form of writing was
developed? These people are called prehistoric, because they existed before
written history.
The first people that we know of lived very differently than we live today.
Scientists have found artifacts that give us clues about these people. In this
lesson we will learn about the first known people-groups to walk on Earth.
When you have completed this lesson, you will be able to
describe hunter-gatherer societies,
including food and the use of fire,
identify where early people-groups
lived,
describe how early people adapted to
their environments, and
discuss the changes that brought
gave rise to farming and the roots of early civilization.
