BOOK PARTS
Books are important. People use books in school. People read books for fun. This lesson shows all the parts of a book.
Outside Parts

Title - the name of the book Spine - holds the pages and the book together Front Cover - covers the book's pages Author - the person that wrote the book |
Inside Parts Inside the cover are pages. The pages have words and pictures.

Pictures Most books have pictures in them. A person that draws pictures for books is called an 'illustrator'. If a book has an illustrator, his or her name will be under the name of the author, like this: |

An illustrator is an artist. He or she draws pictures that show the story. |
Words Books use words to tell a story. Do you know left and right? It is important that you do. Reading words in books means starting at the left side, and reading across to the right side. Do you know what side to start reading on?
