You can have a really shocking experience with an electric eel. It is a freshwater fish living in central and south America. It can produce powerful jolts of electrical energy. Its electrical discharge can easily stun a smaller fish or frog. Than it can swallow the motionless pray. How this 2.5 m long fish can create electrical energy of 600 volts? It has modified muscle tissue which acts as electroplates. Its 5-6 thousand small electroplates add its electric energy together to generate five times the voltage of an electric outlet in the US.

If a fish can use electricity to get food what can humans do? This lesson will lead you through the basics of electricity and its everyday use.
