The Spread of Islam
One of the earliest civilizations that still exists today is the Arab civilization. Its roots lie farther back than 3000 B.C., and began in a mysterious place, south of Asia Minor, deep in the Arabian Peninsula. The deserts that make up most of this peninsula may seem forbidding, but the nomadic Arabian herders and caravans knew how to travel through them.
