eTAP.org provides education resources to Bilingual school in Honduras LAGUNA BEACH, CA–September 15, 2007–eTAP announces the use of www.etap.org for CBS bilingual education in Honduras. http://www.cofradiaschool.com/CBSetap.html Cofradia's Bilingual School (CBS) in Honduras is a nonprofit bilingual school serving the community of Cofradia since 1997. Cofradia (or "brotherhood") is a small town just west of San Pedro Sula in Honduras. CBS actively seeks disadvantaged children and provides them with a quality bilingual education, hence a much brighter future. They have almost 300 students enrolled and over 1/3 of them are receiving scholarship assistance. http://www.cofradiaschool.com/index.html Ben Udy, Project Director, http://www.cofradiaschool.com/ben.htm said "I find that the www.etap.org web site is really easy to navigate and I am very impressed with its layout and function... Our situation here is that the children often don't fit "normal grade" standards and we need to find relevant work at lower grade levels for many of them, especially the ones who have recently joined our school. One of the most advantageous features of eTAP as opposed to regular grade level text books is that we can custom tailor our lessons so effectively. I think we might find that the suggested grade levels become much less relevant, the more eTAP gets used by non US students and schools. As you have mentioned previously, eTAP can effectively replace most text books and can also be used to produce special custom made texts for particular classes. I can see the day coming when eTAP (and there may be some competition by then) will be the standard way for all schools to develop and deliver their curriculum. We are really incredibly glad that we found you on the net when we did. Blaise and the rest of the eTAP team have developed an Internet based complete school curriculum which allows each individual student to work at their own pace and also gives teachers access to all the required material that they need in teaching any grade level from Kindergarten to US 12th grade. It gives schools the ability to save substantially on the purchase of printed material and therefore should also allow them to increase their computer budget. Actually it costs less to print text from www.etap.org than to pay for sending donated books from the US." eTAP.org is a website that provides easy access to K-12 resources that satisfy each student’s learning style. eTAP’s comprehensive recourses include: instructional text, assessments, practice exercises, worksheets, interactive games and videos. eTAP.org is currently being used by about 50 public schools in the USA and 1000 Homeschoolers worldwide.
