www.eTAP.org is being used by Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson for after school programs. LAGUNA BEACH, CA–September 15, 2007– Kim Richards, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson krichards@bgccarson.org is using www.etap.org for all her after school programs to help students with their school studies. She said “Check out the eTAP website, www.etap.org, to learn more about the awesome resource. I am using it at all of my sites, including schools (I have mobile, wireless laptops) and the teachers/principals are PUMPED about its capacity! A few of the LA Clubs are using Prop 49 funds to contract with eTAP for the program. You can allocate it as a program expense! Also, it is soooo easy to use. It will really accentuate BGCA’s Education and Career Development Core Program area tremendously on so many levels” School principals are reporting between 90% and 100% pass rates for underachieving High School students who use eTAP.org for CAHSEE test preparation. Educators who have used www.etap.org’s resources have also increased their students’ CST scores for elementary and middle schools. With the help of eTAP’s on-line resources, teachers have also been able to increase their schools’ API scores and meet AYP goals. eTAP.org is a website that provides easy access to K-12 resources that satisfy each student’s learning style. eTAP’s comprehensive recourses include: instructional text, assessments, practice exercises, worksheets, interactive games and videos. All eTAP instructional material is aligned with state standards and qualifies for federal and state funding. Being a non-profit corporation, eTAP’s goal is to make educational resources available and affordable to all students at every level. Some of the chronic problems eTAP.org is helping to solve in our schools:
eTAP.org is currently being used by 30 High Schools in the Los Angeles and San Diego area to prepare for the High School Exit exam with great success. Below are a few of the many comments from educators using eTAP.org: “Our API increased 147 points because students used eTAP for CST and CAHSEE prep.” Cecil McLinn, Principal, Duke Ellington High School, LAUSD “We use eTAP for our EL and Special Ed. students to help them access curriculum and meet the state standards. Our API went up 45 points.” Stephanie McClay, Principal, Cal Burke Continuation High School, LAUSD “We use eTAP with an interdisciplinary approach incorporated into all of the courses that are tested on the CST. Our API increased by 54 points.” Regina Awtry, Principal, Avalon Continuation High School, LAUSD eTAP.org Preparation Course Boosts CAHSEE Pass Rates, “Our CAHSEE pass rate has gone up 100% for our 50 students using eTAP. eTAP is an instrumental part of the educational process for those students having a difficult time passing CAHSEE.” Harold Starr, Principal, Zane Grey Continuation High School, LAUSD “My students are enthusiastic about studying with eTAP, because of the set-up of the web-site. This is so much better than standardized text books because it is so interactive.” Michael Crumrine, 11th grade teacher, Truth High School, LAUSD eTAP Inc. provides the most comprehensive K-12 educational resources over the Internet aligned to state standards.
