Wave Properties

All waves have similar characteristics. We have discussed a few so far such as wavelength, frequency and velocity. In this section, we will discuss a few more.

The height of the wave is called its amplitude.

It is the maximum displacement of a particle from its rest position due to wave motion. In sound, amplitude relates to loudness or volume. In light, amplitude relates to the objects brightness.
