Trends in Labor
The labor force changes based on the way the population and types of work change. Both of these factors have transformed quite a bit in recent years, and this means that different types of jobs are in demand now than in the past.
As you consider what kind of job you may pursue in the future, you may want to consider the changing needs in the labor force:
In 1960, the population consisted of about 155 million people. Today, it numbers over 300 million. A larger population means a greater demand for goods and services. In most cases, this means that a larger workforce will be needed to meet those demands.
