Standard Deviation of Random Variable
Standard deviation of a random variable is another tool to measure how the data are extended from the mean. Particularly, having the same unit as the unit of a random variable, it can provide us with a reasonably better picture of the dispersion of a random variable. The unit of variance is the square of the unit of the observed value. This fact causes inconvenience in statistical calculations, so using the standard deviation is highly preferred.
