A Case for Civil Rights

The civil rights movement was at its peak during the 1950s and 1960s. For hundreds of years, African Americans had suffered from racism and discrimination. As time went by, they began to protest this mistreatment.

    

The Warren Court Reforms

The Supreme Court responded to the problems African Americans and others faced. Under Chief Justice Earl Warren, the Supreme Court set precedents in several important areas. In the case of Brown v. Board of Education (1954) found that segregation in schools is unconstitutional (Students could not be forced into different areas or different schools based on race.
